The business
Small on purpose
Troubled Water is a local plumbing business based at 309 E South St in Tahlequah, the capital of the Cherokee Nation. We serve homes and businesses across Cherokee County: repairs, drains and sewer, gas lines, water heaters, repiping, leak detection and whole-home water filtration.
The name says what we do. Water, sewer and gas are the three systems in a house that can do real damage when they go wrong, and they are the three we know best.
We are a small business, and we like it that way. When you call, you talk to the person who will do the work. There is no office passing messages to a crew you have never met.
License
License OK203156. Check it yourself.
Plumbing in Oklahoma is licensed by the state Oklahoma Construction Industries Board. Anyone can look up a plumber's license on the state's public search. It takes about two minutes, and it is worth doing before you let anyone work on your gas or water lines.
Most plumbers in this area never print their license number. We put ours on every page.

How we work
Four things we do on every job
A price before we start
We quote the job before we start. The number we say is the number you pay — even if the job runs long or hits a surprise. No hourly meter, no guessing.
We explain it
We show you what is wrong and tell you what it takes to fix it, in plain words. If a repair is not worth doing, we say so. If you can fix it yourself, we say that too.
We come prepared
We come with the right parts on the truck, and we respect your time and your house.
We are honest about our hours
We answer 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. We are not a 24-hour company, and we will not pretend to be one to get your call.
The work
Residential first. Commercial too.
Most of our work is in homes: a leak under a sink, a water heater at the end of its life, a new gas line for a range. We also work for businesses and rental owners, from restrooms to pump rooms.
