Plumber in Scraper, OK
Scraper is up Highway 10 northeast of Tahlequah, in the Illinois River hills — about 15 miles and 26 minutes from the shop. Out here nearly everything runs on a well, and that changes what breaks and what it takes to fix it.

A Scraper plumber, not a call center
The community takes its name from Captain Archibald Scraper of the 2nd Regiment, Indian Home Guard. The Census Bureau renamed the local census area Sparrowhawk after 2010, but the road, the store and the people still say Scraper, so that is what this page says.
Dustin answers the phone 7 AM to 5 PM, gives you a day, and quotes the job before he starts. The number he says is the number you pay. We are not a 24-hour company. Oklahoma plumbing license OK203156.
Tahlequah city water serves about 14,458 people out of roughly 47,942 in the county, and none of that pipe comes up here. The river corridor runs on private wells and small private systems — the state's own drinking-water list shows the camps along this stretch of the Illinois River drawing groundwater. So your water quality is your own business, and your pressure comes off a well system instead of a city main. We work on the house side of it.
That gives us a short and predictable list of Scraper calls. Sand or grit in the aerators and running toilets: the water is carrying sediment, and filtration sized to it goes in at the house. A sulfur smell in the hot water only: usually the anode rod in the water heater reacting with the water. Orange stains in the toilet tank: iron. A pump that starts and stops every few seconds is not on that list — that is the well system, and we don't work on wells. Oklahoma licenses well and pump work separately, so the pump and the pressure tank go to a licensed pump installer. Everything from where the line enters the house is ours.
The second Scraper theme is freezing. Houses on the bluffs and down in the river bottoms often have long exposed runs and crawl spaces open to the wind. Pipe heat cable, insulation and a closed crawl space cost far less than a split line and a day of digging in January.

Straight about our hours
We are not a 24-hour company
We work 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and turn up when we say. If something goes wrong after hours, do this first:
Water where it shouldn't be
Shut off the main valve. Once the water is off, it can wait for a proper repair.
You smell gas
Leave the house. From outside, call 911 and your gas company.
Sewage coming up a drain
Stop running water: no flushing, no laundry. Then call us.
Do you come up Highway 10 to Scraper?
Yes. It is about 15 miles and 26 minutes from the shop. Give Dustin a road name and a landmark and he will find you. Asking him about the job on the phone is free. If he has to come out and look before he can price it, there is a trip charge and he tells you what it is first.
There is sand in my faucets and the toilets keep running. What is that?
Sediment in the water. The grit holds toilet fill valves and flappers open and it chews up faucet cartridges. The fix is filtration sized to how much sediment you actually have, plus replacing the parts the grit already ruined. We test and measure first so you do not buy a filter that is wrong for your water.
What will you charge?
One flat price for the job, quoted before we start, and no hourly meter. Pricing it over the phone or off a photo is free. If we have to come out and find the problem before we can price the repair, you hear what that costs first.
