A Moodys plumber, not a call center
The Moodys post office has been open since 1896, and some of the plumbing looks like it has been in almost as long. We do not sneer at it. A house that has been repaired ten times by ten different hands just needs somebody to say out loud which of those repairs is the one causing your problem.
Dustin answers the phone between 7 AM and 5 PM and quotes the job before he starts. The number he says is the number you pay, even if the work runs long. We are not a 24-hour company. Oklahoma plumbing license OK203156.
If you have water running now, shut it off at the meter or at the well switch and call us. If a fitting is weeping and you can live with a bucket for a night, that is fine too — tell us on the phone and we will tell you honestly whether it can wait.
The median Moodys home was built around 1978, which is older than anywhere else we work. At that age you find galvanized steel water pipe rusting shut from the inside, so the pressure in the shower drops year after year until one day it is a trickle. You find cast-iron and early plastic drains, cleanouts that were never installed, and supply lines patched with three kinds of fitting. When the repairs start outrunning the pipe, we will tell you that repiping a section is cheaper than another year of leaks.
Well over a quarter of Moodys homes heat with wood and only about one in seven has piped gas. Two things follow from that. Water heaters are usually electric, so we deal with failed elements and thermostats and tanks that pop and rumble with sediment. And the houses are built to be cold underneath, so winter breaks happen in crawl spaces and under floors, not in walls.
Nearly one housing unit in five in Cherokee County is a mobile home, and there are plenty here. Mobile-home plumbing is its own trade: cross-over lines under the floor that freeze first, plastic drain fittings that will not take a cable without care, non-standard tub and toilet spacing, and skirting that has to come off before anyone can reach the work. We would rather do it right the first time than break a fitting hurrying.
Most homes here are on a well or a small rural line, and everything drains to a septic system. So the call we get most in Moodys is a main line that backs up at the lowest drain because the septic tank is full, not because the line is dirty. The other one is a pump that clicks on and off every few seconds, and that is the well system rather than the house plumbing. We don't work on wells — Oklahoma licenses well and pump work separately — so the pump and the pressure tank go to a licensed pump installer. From where the line enters the house, it is ours.

Straight about our hours
We are not a 24-hour company
We work 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and turn up when we say. If something goes wrong after hours, do this first:
Water where it shouldn't be
Shut off the main valve. Once the water is off, it can wait for a proper repair.
You smell gas
Leave the house. From outside, call 911 and your gas company.
Sewage coming up a drain
Stop running water: no flushing, no laundry. Then call us.
My water pressure has been dropping for years. Is that the well or the pipe?
In a house this age it is usually the pipe. Galvanized steel closes up with rust from the inside, and the hot side usually goes first. The test is simple: if pressure is bad at every fixture and worse the farther you get from the meter or the tank, the pipe is the problem. Dustin will check the easy things on the house side first. If it turns out to be the pressure tank out at the well, that is pump-installer work, and we will tell you so.
Do you work on mobile homes in Moodys?
Yes, and we know what we are getting into. Under-floor cross-overs that freeze, plastic drain fittings that snap if you cable them carelessly, tub and toilet spacing that does not match a hardware-store part, and skirting that has to come off first. We plan for that when we quote, instead of surprising you with it afterward.
What will it cost?
You get a flat price for the job before we start, and it holds. We will not put figures on a web page, because the same job in two Moodys houses can be very different once you see how the pipe was run. We will also tell you when a repair is not worth it and replacing the section is the cheaper road.
