A Welling plumber, not a call center
Out here the address is a road number and the house is down a drive. We ask for the details that actually get a truck to your door, and Dustin writes them down himself, because he is the one driving. No dispatcher guessing at a pin on a map.
The promise is simple and it does not change out of town: we quote the job before we start, and the number we say is the number you pay, even if the job runs long or hits a surprise. Oklahoma plumbing license OK203156.
Calls are answered 7 AM to 5 PM. We are not a 24-hour company. If a pipe breaks tonight, close the valve at the meter and call in the morning; if you smell gas or propane, get everyone out first and call 911 or the utility from outside.
The median Welling home was built around 1989, and about one home in six here heats with wood — one of the highest shares in the county. Wood heat and an open crawl space go together, and so does a hard freeze finding the one uninsulated run under the floor. When that line splits, it usually splits where it crosses a vent or an unskirted corner, and it does not show up until the thaw.
About one in six housing units here sits empty at any given time, which is what river and lake country looks like in the census. Empty houses hide leaks. A weeping supply line behind a washer or a bad toilet flapper costs nothing when you are there to hear it and a great deal when nobody has been in the house for three weeks.
Water is split between Cherokee County Rural Water District #7, which buys treated surface water, and private wells on the places the district line never reached. On the well side the house problems are the same short list: iron and sediment cutting up faucet cartridges, and a sulfur smell that shows up only in the hot water because the water heater's anode rod is feeding it. Those we handle. A pump that short-cycles is a fault in the well system, and Oklahoma licenses well and pump work separately, so that one goes to a licensed pump installer.
Everything drains to a septic system. If the tub gurgles when the toilet flushes and the lowest drain in the house is the first to back up, that is a main-line or septic problem, not a sink problem, and we will say so before we cable anything. Tenkiller Public School and the camps along the river also mean summer traffic here, and a holiday weekend with fifteen people in a house is when a marginal drain finally gives up.

Straight about our hours
We are not a 24-hour company
We work 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and turn up when we say. If something goes wrong after hours, do this first:
Water where it shouldn't be
Shut off the main valve. Once the water is off, it can wait for a proper repair.
You smell gas
Leave the house. From outside, call 911 and your gas company.
Sewage coming up a drain
Stop running water: no flushing, no laundry. Then call us.
My well water smells like rotten eggs, but only the hot water. Why?
That smell is usually sulfur bacteria reacting with the anode rod inside the water heater. Cold water is fine, hot water stinks. Sometimes the fix is flushing and changing the anode to a different type; sometimes the water needs treatment, and that equipment goes in inside the house. We test before we sell anything, and we tell you if the cheap fix is the right one.
A pipe froze and broke under my house. Can you repair it and keep it from happening again?
Yes, and the second half matters more than the first. We repair the break, then look at why that run froze: an open crawl vent, missing skirting, a line strapped to the outside of a floor joist, no insulation where the pipe leaves heated space. Fixing the cause costs less than the second repair.
What does a plumber cost out in Welling?
One flat price for the job, quoted before we start, drive included. No hourly meter, no rural add-on. If the problem has to be found before it can be priced — a hidden leak, for instance — Dustin tells you what the search costs first, and then what the repair costs before he does it.
Nobody lives at my Welling place full time. Can you check it over?
We can go through the plumbing at a part-time house: shut-offs that no longer shut off, supply hoses past their life, a water heater on borrowed time, and a proper winter shutdown if you are leaving it cold. Tell us how the place is used and we will tell you what is worth doing.
