Our approach
Small jobs get answered too
The most common complaint about plumbers around here is not the pipework. It is the phone that nobody answers, the appointment that quietly does not happen, and the invoice that does not look like the conversation. Small jobs are where that happens most, because they are easy to push.
So: we answer during our hours, we tell you when we can come, we quote the job before we start, and the invoice matches the quote. If a repair turns out to be a two-dollar part you can fit yourself, we will say so and show you how.

More about faucets, toilets & disposals
Faucets, kitchen and bath
Cartridges, stems, seats and aerators on a faucet worth saving, and full replacement when it is not. We will fit a faucet you bought yourself, and we will tell you honestly whether it is the kind we expect to see again.
Toilets
Flappers, fill valves, flush valves, tank bolts and wax rings. Pulling and resetting a toilet that rocks or seeps at the base, replacing a broken flange, and swapping the whole toilet where the china is cracked or the trapway keeps blocking.
Garbage disposals
Jammed units, leaks at the sink flange or the drain elbow, a unit that hums, and one that trips its reset every week. Disposals are often cheaper to replace than to rebuild, and we will tell you which side of that line yours is on.
Shower and tub valves
A shower that will not hold a temperature, a handle that spins, or a valve that drips into the tub all night. Some are a cartridge. Some need the valve body replaced, which means access from the front or from the back, and we tell you which before we start.
Under the sink
Traps, tailpieces, dishwasher connections and the collection of adapters that gets built up over the years. A sink drain held together with clamps and flex hose will keep leaking until it is put back the way it should be.
Stops, supply lines and hose bibs
The small valves that decide how bad the next problem gets. Old stops that weep or will not close, braided supply lines that are past their life, and outside hose bibs that drip or split after a freeze.
You have to push the handle hard to stop the drip
That is a worn seat or cartridge, and forcing it wears the rest faster. It also means the next person to use it will leave it dripping.
The shower temperature moves on its own
Hot then cold when somebody flushes, or a slow drift while you stand there. Usually a failing mixing cartridge, sometimes pressure, and both are worth fixing before the valve seizes.
The toilet rocks, or the floor near it feels soft
A toilet that moves has broken its seal. Water has been going under the flooring rather than down the drain, and the longer it sits the more of the floor is part of the repair.
Water pools in the cabinet or the base of the vanity
Swollen chipboard, a musty smell or a stained cabinet floor means it has been leaking a while. Find out whether it is the supply, the trap or the sink rim, because the three have different fixes.
Water chemistry does most of it. Inside Tahlequah the water is treated surface water carrying chlorine or chloramine at a 1.8 mg/L running annual average, and disinfectant is hard on rubber: flappers go soft, supply washers harden, and faucet cartridges give up earlier than you would expect. If you are replacing a toilet flapper every year, the water is the reason, not you.
On a private well the problem is the opposite and just as real. A state study of the Boone groundwater basin measured hardness in its well samples at a median of 185 mg/L, and hard water leaves scale on every seat, screen and cartridge in the house. Aerators plug, shower cartridges get gritty and stiff, and fill valves whistle. Whole-home treatment is the real fix for that, and we will say so when it is the honest answer instead of selling you the same cartridge every spring.
Inside the city limits there is one more factor: nearly six in ten occupied homes in Tahlequah are rented. Rental fixtures do more work, get less notice, and usually get called in by a landlord who needs a known price and an invoice, not a sales pitch. We are happy to work that way, including several units in one trip.
- 1
Send a photo when you call
A picture of the faucet, the toilet or under the sink tells us the brand and the parts to bring. That one step is the difference between fixing it on the first visit and coming back for a cartridge.
- 2
We price the fixture, not the hour
One flat price per fixture, told to you before we start. If you have three small jobs, ask for all three — doing them in one visit costs less than three visits.
- 3
We fix it and test it properly
Run it hot and cold, fill and flush it, check the stop and the trap, and wipe the cabinet dry so you can see it is dry. Then we take the old parts and the packaging with us.
- Photograph the fixture and the shut-off valves under it, and send the photo with your message.
- Find the brand name on the faucet body, the handle, or inside the toilet tank lid.
- Close the small stop under the sink or behind the toilet if something is dripping, and put a towel down.
- Empty the cabinet under the sink. It saves time and it keeps your things dry.
- For a jammed disposal: switch it off at the wall, never reach in, and try the reset button underneath and the hex key in the bottom of the unit.
- If you bought a new fixture, keep the box and every small bag of parts that came with it.
Toilets are usually worth repairing. Fill valves, flappers and wax rings are cheap parts, and a sound toilet lasts decades.
Faucets and disposals are the other way round once they are old. When a faucet needs a cartridge, a stem and a seat, or the finish is failing anyway, a new one costs less than repairing it twice. A disposal that leaks from the body is done, and no amount of work makes it right.
We will always tell you which it is, and what each choice costs, before you spend anything.
We quote a flat price per fixture before we start, and it holds. No hourly meter means a seized nut or a cramped cabinet is our problem, not a line on your invoice.
Bundle the little jobs. A faucet, a toilet part and a new stop on the same visit costs less than three separate calls, and it is the best value in plumbing.
If you supply the fixture, we will install it. We will also tell you before we start if we think the fixture is the kind that comes back, so the choice is yours with the facts in hand.
What changes the price
- Repair or full replacement of the fixture
- Whether the parts are common or the fixture is an old model with limited parts
- Access: an open cabinet, a pedestal sink, a tight vanity, or a valve behind tile
- Whether the stops and supply lines also need replacing
- How many fixtures we do in the one visit
- Whether a replaced valve or rearranged pipe brings the job into permit territory inside the city

How much does it cost to fix a faucet or a toilet in Tahlequah?
We quote a flat price per fixture before any work starts, and it does not change while we are working. What moves the number is whether it is a repair or a replacement, whether the parts are common, and how hard the fixture is to get at. Small jobs are welcome — send a photo to (918) 822-7918 and we will tell you what it takes.
Can I buy my own faucet and have you install it?
Yes. Bring it, or have it delivered, and keep every bag of small parts that came in the box. We will fit it and we will tell you honestly what we think of it. Some inexpensive fixtures use plastic cartridges that do not last in our water, and you deserve to hear that before it is on your sink, not after.
Is a running toilet worth fixing?
Nearly always, and quickly. A flapper that leaks past sends clean water down the drain all day, and on a city meter you pay for every gallon. The parts are cheap and the repair is short. If the toilet is cracked, or it blocks constantly because of its design, we will tell you that replacing it is the better spend.
Why does my shower go hot and cold?
Most often the mixing cartridge inside the valve is worn or scaled up, so it no longer balances hot and cold. It can also be pressure: a toilet flushing or a washer filling steals cold water from the shower. We check both, and we tell you whether it is a cartridge, a valve body, or something further back in the house.
Will you come out for just one small job?
Yes. That is a big part of this business, and it is the thing we hear people cannot get anybody to do. One toilet, one faucet, one stop valve — we will quote it and we will show up. If you have been waiting on a call back from somebody else, call us and we will tell you plainly when we can be there.
Do I need a permit to replace a faucet or a toilet in Tahlequah?
Generally no. The city's code exempts repairing leaks in pipes, valves and fixtures, and removing and reinstalling a toilet, as long as nothing is replaced or rearranged. Replacing a valve, moving pipe, or adding a fixture is new work and needs a permit and an inspection. We tell you which one your job is when we quote it.
